Posing: The Potato Sack

At Honeybourne Studio, we are always looking for new poses to add to our newborn photography repertoire. This time, we’ve added the potato sack!

Wrapped up tightly in a tiny, precious bundle, newborns love this pose. It helps them feel safe and secure, just like they did in the womb – not to mention they are warm and cozy in the softest of materials.

It’s the kind of pose that makes mom and dad sigh with pleasure at how cute their little one looks – and I’ll admit I’m always sighing right along with them!

If this pose catches your eye, you might be interested to know that it has an additional benefit when included in a session with your new arrival. Because baby feels so snug in the potato sack, they tend to drift right off to sleep – even if they were wide awake when they arrived at the studio.

If you are concerned about getting your little one to sleep for their photographs, rest assured that we can always start with the potato sack. Not only will baby be snoozing peacefully throughout the rest of their photoshoot, you’ll have some toe-tinglingly adorable photographs to add to your album!
