Maternity Photography Sessions FAQs
Preparing for a Session
When is the best time to schedule my session?
The ideal time to book a Toronto maternity photography session with us is between 32 and 36 weeks of pregnancy. At this stage, your belly will be beautifully big but you won’t be feeling bloated.
What should I wear during my maternity session?
We want to capture your personality and style during the session, so the choice of outfits is entirely yours! You’ll find lots of wonderful tips and inspiration on colours and styles in the What to Wear category of our blog.
How many outfits should I bring with me?
We recommend that you bring several outfit choices to your session because an outfit that looks gorgeous in real life might not show up as well on camera. We usually photograph three or four outfits from the wardrobe you bring to the session, so it’s best to bring at least six or seven options.
What if I’m feeling unwell on the day I’ve booked my session and can’t come in?
We don’t want you to feel any pressure and we know that you might occasionally feel under the weather during your pregnancy. We will be more than happy to reschedule your session if this happens.
During Your Session
I’m not comfortable with the idea of nudity right now – can you help?
No nudity is required during your Toronto maternity photography session. It’s important to us that you feel comfortable throughout the photoshoot, so we will never pressure you to uncover any body part that you’re unhappy to expose.
I’m not confident about my body – should I still book a maternity session?
You may not be feeling confident about your body, but that doesn’t mean that you aren’t more beautiful than ever as a glowing mom-to-be! Our expert posing and lighting and our years of experience will help us showcase exactly how gorgeous you truly are.
Should I bring dad with me to the studio?
While we don’t insist that dad be with you in the photographs, we strongly encourage him to join in. Images including both mom and dad usually come out strongly as favourites! Even if dad would prefer not to be photographed, he is welcome to join you at the studio to provide support.
Can I bring other family members to the session?
Definitely! We encourage the whole family to be in the images, so we welcome cousins, aunts and uncles and even grandparents if they would like to be included. We particularly recommend that older siblings be involved so that we can capture family portraits for you.
How long does a maternity session take?
A typical maternity session takes around one hour from start to finish.
About Your Photographs
Can I make requests for my images?
What photographs can I expect from my session?
During a Toronto maternity photography session, we capture as many poses as possible and take advantage of every angle. As well as full portraits of you and shots that include other family members, we include plenty of close-ups of your blooming baby belly.
How can I view my images after the session?
After your session, we will make all the best images available for you to view within 14 days in a private, password-protected gallery. The images will be accessible for five days to give you time to make product and collection choices.
Products and Collections
What products will I be able to choose from after my session?
We offer a fantastic range of products for your Toronto maternity photography sessions, from artistic wall prints and hand-crafted albums to the digital negative collection. You can make a selection from the full range of products or choose from our pre-designed collections. For full descriptions and features, visit the products section of our blog.
Can I choose my products ahead of time?
Entirely your choice! You have the option to choose your products ahead of time and select the images to fit once your session is complete. Alternatively, you can choose your products once you have seen the finished photographs.

Do I need to make a deposit before my session?

We’re on a budget during maternity leave and can’t afford all the products we want – can you help?
Yes! Our payment plan is designed to help you spread the total cost of your maternity session over up to 12 months, to give you the freedom to order every product on your wish list without worrying. Alternatively, why not opt to invest in one of our collections? These are a great way to get a range of products at a special price.
Can our friends and family contribute to the cost of our maternity session?
We have created a complimentary gift registry so that all your friends and family can contribute to your maternity session. All you need to do is schedule your session and we will take care of the rest!
